With the compact Carpoint tyre tread depth gauge, you can quickly and easily check how much tread is left on your tyres. Good tyre tread is essential, as your tyres are your car’s only contact with the road. The gauge has a measuring range of 0–26 mm.
A good tread depth also helps reduce the risk of aquaplaning. The legal minimum tread depth for summer and winter tyres in the Netherlands is 1.6 mm.
When measuring tyre tread, it is recommended to check several points — both in the centre of the tyre and on the inner and outer edges. Uneven tyre wear may occur.
